Thanks again for all your help. I ordered Ron’s medicated food and it came with a 8 Oz bag of pellets and a medicine packet that I was supposed to mix the entire bag i.e. 1 pk of medicine for 8 oz of pellets. I am planning to use just this medication pack to make medicated gelatin cubes with Rapashy but I am not sure about the correct qty since it seems like the medicine is already proportioned for the equal amount of food vs the other commercial medicine packs that are supposed to be for 10 gallons of water and probably have higher dose of medication.
Should I still use the smidgen qty from Ron’s medication pack or the qty should be proportioned to the 8 oz food mixing instructions e.g. Use 1/8th of the medication pk for 1 oz of Rapashy Food.
Please Advise.

Tons of good information! Thanks a million for sharing.

I have all the meds you talk about here, mainly, Metro, Lavamisole, Praziquantel and Fenbendazole.

Any need to also stock Flubendazole? Some say it is good to treat water with it to control any parasites that might have been spelled into the water column.

Thanks,
Luis

Appreciate the advice and your diagnosis. After reading the fish tb article, that pretty well describes what I’ve seen with some of my fish that have passed on. I had never even heard of fish tb, let alone the fact it can infect humans, prior to your responses below. So you have saved not only some of my fish, but also my extremities.

I ordered this guy to attach to my HOB: AA Aquarium Green Killing Machine Clip-On UV System, 3-watt. Before I unbox it, do you have any opinion on whether it will do anything for the fish TB issue? Review sentiment seems pretty positive on chewy but who knows if those are real.

In reply to Dan ……. You’re doing everything right. I suspect fish TB. The only solution if to add a small 3.5 watt UV unit.

It’s a ten gallon tank, established August 2024. Attempting to overfilter by running both a hang on back as well as undergravel filter. Added some sponges to HOB. Never replaced cartridge in filter. Five various small danios, three kuhlis, a single guppy, six dwarf rasboras. feeding a small amount of 51% crude protein sinking pellets every other day. Has awful luck early on but suspect LFS mary have substandard fish to begin with. Other than relatively heavy ish stocking I’m not sure what else could be causing the deaths.

In reply to Dan ………. Two kuhli loaches over a span of several months doesn’t justify a shotgun approach. Take a long hard look at your practices. Feeding too much? Too little of filtration? Cleaning the filter too often? Add a UV unit? Chances are it is just good old fish tuberculosis. Fish TB is best treated with UV.

Any recommendations? Time for the shotgun approach?
